This page
contains images from the new series, "The Holocaust",
created in 2005. The images presented are studies and not
necessarily completed works -- the ultimate aim is for Ayton
to create large-scale versions of these for exhibition purposes.
There is a planned musical component, with a collaboration with a composer working
on
musical works to complement the images, which will hopefully be a 2-way process,
with
the musical
pieces helping to inspire the final images.
The purpose of this body of work is not to glorify fascism or genocide -- quite
the opposite: to help ensure that it never happens again.
